Create a showcase space

The Showcase format is a new option to display your spaces on Sutra in a gallery view — a perfect choice for organizing different programs, offerings, and communities or allowing members to create their spaces within a program.

How to create a showcase space

1. Switch to the Edit page mode on the top menu.
2. Put the cursor on the empty line below the content and click on the + icon. Or click on the Space icon shortcut.

3. Enter the space name

4. Click on the space format field and select Showcase

   

5. You also have the option to keep this space Open or Private. Or to schedule this space to be published on a specific date and time.
6. Once everything is set, click on the Create space button

How to create a sub space inside a showcase space

To create your first page, enter the Showcase space and follow the steps below:

1. Click on the Create space box
2. Enter your post title and description (optional)
3. Click on Create space

By default, thumbnails will be automatically added to the spaces created but you can disable this option in the showcase settings:

You can also remove or add a thumbnail to your spaces by following the steps below:

1. Click on the vertical ellipsis of your post
2. Select Add thumbnail
3. Choose the source of your image
4. Click on Select image

How to add content to a space

Now that the space is created, you can add content, to do this, click on the created post

1. Then, click on the Edit page blue button on the top bar
2. Click on a new line, and add your text, or click on the + icon to access all building blocks available. As in all Sutra spaces, you have infinite options to display your content. You can add images, videos, files, links, etc.

Showcase settings

To adjust the Showcase settings, click on the gear icon in the Create post box.

You can choose to display your posts in a list or grid view:

Display options

The display options will be set as below by default, but you can choose to disable them.

New post format

Posts: Create posts on specific topics in a format similar to a Facebook feed or a blog

Discussions: Start separate discussions on specific topics

Link: Share links from other spaces and events (Example: https://sutra.co/space/pgwstm/events)

Template: Template spaces can either be direct subspaces of this space, or they can be linked spaces. Linked spaces are independent top level spaces that will show up on this page. The creator of the space will become a full manager of the space that they create.

Tags

You can pre create tags that can be added to each space by the members to help them filter the pages by specific topics:

And when navigating from the Showcase space, they will have the option to click in one of the tags to filter all pages that were created using that tag:
